Biography

Jonathan Boisclair was born on 14 March 1995 and developed an early passion for computing; he began programming at the age of six. He studied in the Omni-Science (Computer Science) program at École secondaire Des Pionniers from 2007 and completed his secondary studies in 2012. He then pursued a DEC-BAC in Management Information Systems at Cégep de Trois-Rivières and earned his bachelor's degree in May 2017. Jonathan entered graduate studies in September 2017, began a PhD in September 2019 and successfully defended his doctorate in October 2024. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Université de Trois-Rivières, where he teaches programming and contributes to research in applied computing.

In May 2010 Jonathan founded Moyskley Tech with the objective of providing accessible, professional technology services. The company operates under the principle "Do more with less": building efficient software that remains usable on modest hardware and keeping technology knowledge widely available. He also prioritizes creating opportunities for skilled people without formal qualifications. Since 2010, Moyskley Tech has delivered a range of digital services to clients in the region.

Meaning of "Moyskley"

"Moyskley" is an invented name chosen to convey the ideas of preservation and protection in the context of technology. The brand reflects a deliberate philosophy: develop resilient, maintainable software and oppose throwaway consumer practices. This includes designing solutions that remain useful on modest hardware, promoting the efficient use of resources, and sharing practical technical knowledge so it stays available to a broad audience. The name therefore embodies both a technical and an ethical commitment — to longevity, accessibility and responsible use of digital tools.

Origin

The origins of the term are anecdotal rather than etymological. Several informal hypotheses have been suggested over time (for example, playful readings that split the word into components such as "Moys" and "kley"), but none are intended as a rigorous linguistic derivation. What matters for the company is the semantic intention behind the name: a focus on safeguarding digital assets and fostering practical resilience. The anecdotal stories that accompany the name are retained as part of the company's cultural narrative, but the core meaning remains its commitment to protection, preservation and long-term usability.
